Of all people that have known hardships, perhaps the first apostles are amongst those that have known the most or the hardest. After all, the only one that did survive to die of old age rather than stoning, crucifixion or another form of execution lived through being boiled alive in oil. They often faced jail or death, and still one of them, Paul, manages somehow to write the following verse:
Romans 8:18 – “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us”
This coming from a man who has endured 3 shipwrecks, whipped, beaten and jailed many times, has been hungry, tired and hated even by his own people.
All I can say is this: if Paul, through all that he went through considered his sufferings so little compared to the glory God is bringing, how amazing and precious must that glory be.
